PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a new scheme launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Vishwakarma Day on 17 September 2023. This scheme was announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 15 August 2023. The objective of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen to enhance their products and services. Under this scheme, artisans and craftsmen will be recognized as ‘Vishwakarma’ and will be made eligible to get all the benefits under the scheme.
Also, suitable training will be arranged to enhance their skills. They will be taught to use modern equipment to increase their efficiency and productivity. Also, there will be a provision to provide loans without any security and interest waiver to the interested beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (Eligibility)
Under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PM Vishwakarma Gov In), initially these 18 types of artisans / craftsmen have been selected for the benefit of this scheme. An artisan or craftsman working with hands and tools in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis and engaged in one of the following 18 family-based traditional occupations in the scheme will be eligible for registration under PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
Must belong to one of the following categories: Carpenter (Suthhar), Boat Builder, Armor Maker, Blacksmith (Lohar), Hammer & Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Sculptor/ Stone Carver/ Stone Breaker, Cobbler (Chamarakar)/ Shoe Maker/ Footwear Artisan, Mason (Mason), Basket Maker/ Basket Weaver/ Mat Maker/ Coir Weaver/ Broom Maker, Doll & Toy Maker (Traditional), Barber, Garland Maker (Malakar), Washerman, Tailor and Fishing Net Maker.
Age Limit: The minimum age of the beneficiary should be 18 years on the date of registration.
Family related eligibility: The beneficiary should be engaged in the relevant business on the date of registration and should not have taken loan under similar credit-based schemes of Central Government or State Government for self-employment/business development. Should not have availed any benefit under PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, MUDRA scheme in the last 5 years. Registration and benefit under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana can be availed by only one member of the family. To avail the benefits under the scheme, a ‘family’ will be considered as husband, wife and unmarried children.
Should not hold a government job: Individuals employed in government service and their family members will not be eligible under this scheme.
Benefits of Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana
The following benefits are associated with the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
Recognition: Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the beneficiary will get recognition as Vishwakarma through a certificate and ID card. With this, the beneficiary can get benefits by showing his Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma certificate for the job.
Kaushal (Training): After training verification, basic training of 5-7 days (40 hours) will be given. Interested candidates can also enroll for advanced training of 15 days (120 hours). Rs 500/- will be given per day during training.
Amount for Toolkit: After the training, the beneficiary will be given an amount of Rs 15,000 so that he/she can buy the toolkit and start his/her work.
Loan Assistance: For the first time, the beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana will be given an unsecured enterprise development loan of Rs 1 lakh which can be repaid in 18 months. And if you repay the first loan on time, then you can take a loan of Rs 2 lakh for the second time for which the repayment time is 30 months.
The concessional rate of interest will be 5%. And the loan will be paid by MoMSME at an interest rate of 8%. The credit guarantee fee in this process of loan will be borne by the Government of India
Incentive for Digital Transactions: If you transact digitally then Rs. 1 per transaction (for maximum 100 transactions) will be given every month.
Marketing Assistance: National Marketing Committee (NCM) will provide services like quality certification, branding & promotion, e-commerce linkage, trade fairs advertising, publicity and other marketing activities to the beneficiary.
